A few days in Melbourne
We had a few days (well a few more days than originally planned) in Melbourne before we flew out to Japan.

Bushfire season
Well they predicted a bad bushfire season and they definitely got it right. On New Years Eve at lunchtime our backyard looked like this...
We left for Melbourne the next day when the roads re-opened, so that we could fly out to Japan, and unfortunately it got significantly worse after that back home. Multiple large fires, houses lost, our home town so smokey that at one stage it blocked out the sun. Scary times, and unfortunately its not over yet.
