We spent last night camping with some friends at Hobart Beach in the Bournda National Park, a whole 15 minutes from home!! Had a great time hanging out at the campsite, and canoeing and sailing on the Wallagoot Lake.

Lost his first tooth
After a few days of an annoying wobbly tooth, Jackson lost his first tooth this morning at school. Looks like the tooth fairy is visiting our house tonight, wonder what the going rate for a tooth is these days!

BBQ breakfast at Bar Beach
We met some friends at Bar Beach this morning for a BBQ breakfast whilst the kids all played on the beach. Beautiful day, beautiful spot.
Whale sighting
The waters out from Tura and Merimbula have become a bit of a whale highway recently, with many sightings of whales flapping around, breaching and splashing. Mostly we see this from a distance. Yesterday we went for a walk down the Tura headland and were lucky enough to see a whale and its calf go by, this is definitely the closest whale sighting we have had.

Canberra and the Scott 24 hour mountain bike race
We were up in Canberra this weekend, as once again Rich signed up for the Scott 24 hour mountain bike race. This year he competed in the Open 6 Man in a sponsored team, so he had the luxury of a tent right on transition (basically in the thick of things), with heat, food and power in the tent. The team of 5 were amazing, riding throughout the day and night, consistently finishing laps around the 36 minute mark, and finishing 11th after getting numerous flats and bike problems.
Whilst in Canberra, Jackson and Josie had a great play at the cool new park in Canberra at the National Arboretum, and also at one of the parks close to the Rices house. And of course, as per usual, they thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with their cousins.
