Brogo Dam
We loaded up the canoe this morning and made our way out to Brogo Dam. We had a lovely morning paddling around the dam attempting to catch fish (no, still no fish caught!), then we pulled into a little beach for a drink, some snacks and a swim.

The Lane cousins
Team Lane came to visit us recently, (aka Selby, Emma, Ethan, Owen and Declan), they drove over from Perth.
We all loved having them to stay, Jackson and Josie thoroughly enjoyed playing with them and showing them all the beaches around this area. We crammed heaps of activities into their time here: BBQ at Bar Beach, swimming and rock climbing at Pambula Rivermouth, walking to Dolphin Cove, playing with crabs on the Merimbula boardwalk, boogie boarding at Short Point, building sandcastles at Spencer Park beach, gardening at the school garden in Bega, visiting the Bega Cheese Factory, some skatepark action in Tathra, pizza in and dinner at the country club.
They are now on their way back to Perth via Philip Island and the Great Ocean Road, and braving the 40oc plus days down there. Then they jet off to Lusaka, Zambia for 2 years. Busy times ahead for Team Lane.
We wish you all the best guys, and hope to see you somewhere sometime soon.

Camping in Buchan, Victoria
We just spent 4 nights camping at Buchan, which is just on the outskirts of the Snowy River National Park in Victoria.
We had a great few days and some great weather. We filled our days with bike riding along an unused railway track, lunching at a brewery, exploring Fairy Cave in Buchan, 4WD'ing in the Snowy Mountains National Park and over McKillops Bridge, exploring the town of Lakes Entrance, as well as swimming and bike riding at the campground.
Due to daylight saving and it being so light at their usual bedtime Jackson and Josie had many very late nights, so we arrived home tired and grubby - but nothing a scrub in the shower and an early night can't fix.
