Long weekend in Murrumbateman

We had a great time hanging out at the Rice Ranch this long weekend.  We started the weekend with a trip to the huge new Ikea in Canberra, then on Sunday we went to Cockington Green with the cousins followed by the Dinosaur Museum, then on Monday we hung out with the cousins in Murrumbateman.

Lovely weekend away and great to see the cousins enjoy each others company.  It was cold up there though, they had their first frost of winter and temperatures dropped down to -4oc. Brrrrr.

Rain, rain and more rain

And it kept raining, we got nearly 300mm in 3 days! This coupled with a king tide and 6m swell did heaps of damage to the beaches as well.

Short Point.  The ocean and back lake became one, and the waves were crashing over the sand dunes.

Stormy

We currently have a big storm hitting the coast from Queensland right down to Melbourne.  We had over 100mm of rain yesterday and same again predicted for today and tomorrow.  After a day spent inside on Saturday we decided to brave the weather and go and check out the 6m swell this morning. It didn't disappoint!
