We spent our time paddling up or down the Snowy River on the SUP's, swimming in the river, playing on the rope swings and riding bikes around the campsite, building rock 'statues' on the beach, skimming rocks in the river, toasting marshmallows on the fire, playing Uno and we also did a bike ride along the rail trail starting at Orbost (the girls rode 20km and the boys did 35km). Very nice time away, and we got home just as the rain started - perfect timing!!

Camping at Woods Point, Victoria
We just spent a lovely few nights camping at Woods Point in Victoria, on the Snowy River. We camped on a free national parks site, and got an amazing spot overlooking the Snowy River, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

Kid talk
A couple of comments from Josie over the last week....
Richard was shaving his head, so we turned to Josie and asked her if she was next, she replied "I am NOT getting my head mowed"
I had cooked a meat pie for dinner and when Josie was called to the dinner table, she said "YES! Meat pie! All my wishes have now come true, oh, except for the one about me being a fairy"

School Cross Country
This is Jackson's first year of participating in the Stage 2/3 Cross Country, which takes place at Berrambool Oval and consists of a 2km course that goes on bush tracks. Jackson, in his usual competitive spirit, came in 7th place - all red faced and sweaty but very proud of himself!
And then the next day, Josie took part in the K-2 Cross Country at the school, she had to do 2 laps of the school oval and (cheered along by her brother) she came in 6th place. Great effort little girl, unfortunately no photos as I had to work.

Our clever little artist
Josie received another award for her artwork today. This award was presented to her in front of the whole school, she was one of a few children at the school to win an art competition, and now her artwork will be permanently displayed on a plaque at the school. Such a clever little girl, so proud.
