After school swim

It got up to over 40 degrees today for the first day back to school, so after Jack and Josie got off the bus we went to Grandad's neighbours pool for a lovely dip to cool off.

Australia Day - Annual Big Float

We took part in the annual Big Float in Merimbula today, where hundreds of people take to the waters on inflatable things (we saw unicorns, flamingos etc) and float on the tide from the bridge down to Spencer Park or Bar Beach.  We took all the SUP's and ended up at Bar Beach for a sausage BBQ.

Camping at Geehi

We just spent a fantastic couple of nights camping with the Pursells at Geehi in the Kosciuszko National Park, floating down the river on inflatable thongs/rings, hanging off the rope swing, some 4WD'ing (including about 6 river crossings), and a 17.5km ride on the Thredbo Valley Trail - great time, must go back again!

Surfing

These school holidays have been about the beach and surfing, with Jackson turning into a great little surfer and Josie getting really confident in the water.  Love these two!

Hanging out with the Rices

We just spent a couple of nights in Murrambateman with the Rices, and as usual, we all thoroughly enjoyed the catch up.

In addition to hanging out at the Rice Ranch, we also all went to the Arboretum, and we managed to trip to Questacon on the way home.

Trip to the Mountains

We just had a great time up in the mountains with the Pursell's.  A cruise around the mountain bike tracks at Cooma, a swim in the thermal pools at Yarrangobilly, a night in Jindabyne, then a cycle/hike to the top of Australia from Charlottes Pass, before a dip in the Snowy River at Dalgety on the way home.  Amazing what you can fit into 36 hours!

Monster Trucks

The Monster Truck show came to Bega today, we had a great time watching the trucks, motorbikes, racing mowers, jet engine car and fireworks.

New Years Day BBQ Breakfast

Once again this year we went to Spencer Park for our traditional BBQ breakfast at the beach followed by some SUPing.  We were joined by some friends this year, and in addition to the SUPing we also played some cricket.  Great way to start 2017.

A visit from the Rices

The Rices came to Tura Beach for a quick one-night visit, it was great to see them.  We managed to fit in a trip to the beach, followed by a BBQ dinner at Ford Park, then a wander around Pambula and Oaklands.
