Homemade Bread

I've been working on my bread making techniques. No bread making machine, just enjoying kneading by hand and allowing the dough to rise, sitting at the kitchen window. Below is my most recent effort.

30 Minute Meals

You may know of Jamie Oliver's recent book, 30 Minute Meals, which is a series of meals that Jamie says take 30 minutes to prepare from scratch. The idea behind the book is to encourage busy people to make a decent (and healthy) meal, instead of going for ready made food, or take away. We thought we would give it a go, and see whether you could do everything in 30 minutes.

So once Jack and Josie were tucked up in bed, we went for one of the first meals; Pregnant Jools's Pasta, Crunchy Chicory and Watercress Salad and Little Frangipane Tarts. Main dish, salad and desert in 30 minutes!

All the ingredients ready to go

Mains and Salad. Desert was complete, just staying warm in the oven!

Having two of us in the kitchen certainly helps. We were finished in 27 minutes! The meal was great (if we do say so ourselves). We plan to have a 30 minute meal night once a week, working our way through Jamie's book. Next week... we may go for a curry night.

Camping at Yallingup - Part 1

We had a fantastic family camping holiday, staying for 4 nights at Caves Caravan Park in Yallingup. We all thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Selby, Emma, Ethan, Owen and Declan, and despite the weather (nothing like a camping trip to break a long dry spell!), we found plenty of things to do and see.

Jackson loved hanging out with his cousins
