Soccer and snow

Jackson had a 9.30am soccer game in Bemboka this morning, which is on the way to the mountains. So as they have had a bit of snow recently we decided to keep going and spend the afternoon in the mountains.  It was lovely (albeit cold!) up there!

School athletics carnival

It was Merimbula Primary Schools athletics carnival today.  Jackson got 2nd in the preliminary heats for the running race, and then came 2nd again in the final.  Super pleased with himself.

Presenting Queen Elsa

Josie LOVES the new Disney movie 'Frozen', and so do most of her little pre-school friends, so much so that her preschool are having a 'Frozen' themed week where the children are encouraged to come to school in Frozen/winter dress ups.  Of course, Josie had to go as her favourite character - Elsa, luckily I managed to find some blue and white material at the op shop and quickly made her an Elsa dress.  She loves it.

Bournda Lagoon Loop

What better thing to do on a rainy day than to pack the raincoats and boots and head off on a walk in Bournda National Park.  We did a huge loop that took in views of Bournda Island, through rainforest, around the lagoon, through the lagoon (!), before heading back to the car.  All up about 6km.

Tathra kids bike race

Its the Tathra Enduro mountain bike race tomorrow, today they had some pre-races, one of which was a kids race which Jackson and Josie entered.  They both loved it.  Jackson had a sprint finish, passed some other kid and thought he came first! (although I think he did get a top 10 finish).  Josie needed a push most of the way, but managed to finish on her own steam.  Now its Richard's turn for the 50km race tomorrow.

 All ready to race

 At the start line

 Look at him go!!

Josie's pace was a little slower!

Racing towards the finish line having just past the kid behind him

A wet weekend in Mallacoota

Jackson had an away soccer game in Mallacoota on the weekend, so a few of us booked accommodation and went down there for the weekend.  And it was a wet weekend, the much needed rain decided to come on Saturday morning and hung around most of the weekend.

Jackson had his first soccer game in the rain, and they all loved it.

We finished the weekend with some four wheel driving on the way home, and were lucky someone packed a saw to remove the tree blocking our track.
