The 20km Tathra Enduro

Yesterday, at a whim, I signed up for the 20km Tathra Enduro.  My race was today.  I actually, surprisingly, had a lot of fun.  The atmosphere was great, the people doing my race so friendly and the track itself was fun.  I completed the race in 1 hour and 25 minutes, coming 3rd in the Open Females (...and yes, there were more than 3 females in the race, but thanks to Andrew for asking!!).  I even got a prize for coming 3rd, a bottle of chain lube - wooo hoooo!!!

Tathra Kids Chase Race

Jackson and Josie both entered the 1km Kids Chase Race at the Tathra Enduro this afternoon.

Jackson took off by himself and was apparently in a close tousle with another boy for a position the whole race, he finished in front of the other boy which Jackson insisted it must mean he is very fast.  Josie was a trooper and although Richard ran alongside her she didn't need much help, until the last 100m when she  announced she had tired legs. Although once it was explained to her that she got a lolly bag at the end she gained a second wind and powered home.

Fishing and SUP'ing at Fish Pen

We went to Fish Pen the other morning for a spot of fishing and Richard went out for stand up paddle board.  Great morning for it, and no, we didn't catch any fish. Grrrr.

Mallacoota

We took a trip to Mallacoota in Victoria today.  Great spot and a lovely little town.  We spent the morning checking out the town, had a picnic lunch overlooking the beach and then a swim before heading home.  We will definitely be back to camp in the future.

Helping in the school garden

Rich took Jack and Josie into his school today to help out in the school garden.  Richard's role at school this year is to set up a permaculture garden and teach kids all about permaculture, needless to say he loves it!  Jackson was a big help, digging a new area to create another garden bed, Josie spent most of the time chasing butterflies.  They both enjoyed sampling the different varieties of lettuce and Jackson did not believe Rich when he said that this was his classroom (... "but its outside"!)

After some mountain biking at Mandeni, we decided to go to Short Point for a picnic lunch this morning, lovely day for it.

Barmouth Beach

Went for a drive to Barmouth beach today.  Lovely secluded spot in the Ben Boyd National Park.  We did some rock climbing, shell hunting, made some 'rock art', threw rocks in the water, surfed, and it ended with Jackson and Josie enjoying some naked play!!!  Good times.

Kid talk

Josie, who was getting frustrated with Jackson whilst playing some game together,  said very firmly, "I am never ever going to play with you ever again", Jackson, "ok".  Then they just kept playing together.

Josie and I had a drink and muffin at Bar Beach on Friday morning, so lovely down there.

Canoeing on the Bega River

We took the canoe out this beautiful morning on the Bega River, we launched at Mogareeka just north of Tathra.  We went up river to a small island and jumped off to have something to eat and a hot drink, we then spent some time making treasure maps, some arrows and 'x' marks the spot in the sand before canoeing back again.  Lovely morning.
