Shell craft

Every time we go to the beach we collect another pile of shells, so this morning we decided to make some things with the shells.  Here Jack and Jo are making shell picture frames.

Mandeni Family Fun Park

Just down the road from home is Mandeni Family Fun Park.  We went down there this morning for a play on the jumping pillow.

Another local beach

This is Tura Beach - about a 10 minute walk from home.

A play at the park with the locals

We went down to the local park for a play the other afternoon, and found a group of kangaroos there.

Our first visitors

The Rices came to stay with us this weekend.  It was lovely for all the cousins and the adults to hang out again.  We had a lovely couple of days and had some amazing weather whilst they were here.

A spot of fishing this morning at Mitchies Jetty in Merimbula, unfortunately no fish were caught - the cheeky fish managed to nibble our bait off the hook and we ran out of bait before catching anything!

Our new home

As nice as our little 2x1 over looking Short Point was, we have now upgraded to a 4x2 and are still in Tura Beach.  We've moved in, and with our furniture on its way over here from Perth, we are 'camping' (sleeping bags, thermarests, camping chairs etc) inside the house until the furniture arrives!

National Dinosaur Museum, Canberra

We had a lovely morning at the National Dinosaur Museum on Sunday with the Rices.  The kids all enjoyed filling in the activity sheets provided, and got rewarded with a certificate and a fossil.  A great morning out.

Capital Punishment Mountain Biking Event

We were back in Canberra again this weekend, staying with the Rices, as Rich and Andrew had the Capital Punishment mountain biking race on Saturday.  Jem, the kids and I went to the finish line to cheer them on (... although we missed Rich as he crossed the line before we got there....ooops!).  They were both entered in the 50km event.  Richard finished 63rd overall with a time of 2 hours and 8 minutes, and Andrew finished 328th overall with a time of 2 hours and 40 minutes.  There were 1003 competitors entered in the 50km race, with 794 finishing and an average time of 3 hours and 31 minutes. Very good effort brother and husband!!
