At the end of the every soccer season all the clubs come together for a gala day, where the teams all play each other in a round robin competition, with each team playing about 5 games. This was our fourth gala day, the third in Mallacoota.
We went down the day before and stayed in a cabin, well Richard rode the 125km there and we drove down and met him. There were quite a few other families from our team also staying in cabins, so we had a great day on the Saturday - the kids all played, we went to the 40m high sand dunes so the kids could fly down them on boogie boards, and then that evening we all went out for dinner together. The gala day was on the Sunday, and we woke up to rain and it was cold rain too, almost hail. It didn't really stop, both Jackson and Josie got one and a half games of soccer in before the organisers called the day off - and the parents couldn't get out of there quick enough. It was freezing on the sidelines, 3℃ apparently!
Photo below was taken out at dinner, I didn't take any pictures of the soccer - my hands stayed firmly in my pockets the whole morning!

Book Week
Introducing Little Miss Helpful and Greg from Diary of a Wimpy Kid (.... yes we may have recycled Greg from last year!!)
Another trip to the snow
We went to Thredbo again last weekend for the day. We picked a great day, blue skies, quite warm and a fresh layer of snow from the previous few days. Perfect. Josie chose to ski again and Jackson opted to try snowboarding this time. Both did so well, Josie is super fast on skis and told both Rich and I off for not going fast enough, and Jackson was linking turns on his first day on a snowboard. Such a good day, it won't be long before we can take off and explore the whole mountain together.
My Birthday
I had a great 42nd Birthday, got woken by the kids with all their presents, went for a bike ride with Jack and Rich (whilst Josie was at dance) in the afternoon, and then we all went out to dinner at my fav restaurant, Vicolo, in the evening.

Last soccer game
Soccer is over again for another year. Another year of Richard coaching Jackson's team, and mainly the same kids in the team as previous years. Josie also played this year, she is not as keen on it as Jackson, but enjoyed the training and games. Well done Grasshoppers!!
Snow Day Trip
We went to Thredbo for the day yesterday. A long day but such a good day. Both Jack and Josie did really well on their skis, we did quite a few runs - some quite steep ones too!!
